For 2023, the Toyota Highlander sees its existing 3.5-liter gasoline V6 replaced by a newer 2.4-liter turbocharged in-line four, which makes less power, more torque, and offers cleaner emissions. That, as well as an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch infotainment screen, comprise the major upgrades for the 2023 model year to this Toyota midsize SUV.
For 2023, there are six trims on offer. These are the following:

Interior Review of the 2023 Toyota Highlander
The 2023 Toyota Highlander continues the current generation's plaudits and offers a comfortable and spacious family-friendly interior. L and LE trims offer seating for up to eight passengers. Higher trim levels come with captain's chairs in the second row, reducing seating capacity to seven. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is standard on Limited and Platinum and optional on XLE and XSE. Cargo space is 16 cubic feet with all three rows deployed, 48 cubic feet with the third row folded, and 84.3 cubic feet with the second and third rows folded.
Exterior Review of the 2023 Toyota Highlander
The Toyota Highlander doesn't have noticeable exterior changes for the 2023 model year. It retains the good looks that have earned it many fans. The sharp trapezoidal grille at the front, chiseled side profile, and high-set rear with twin tailpipes are all carried over from 2022.

Power and Performance of the 2023 Toyota Highlander
The most prominent change for 2023 is the replacement of the 3.5-liter gasoline V6 with a downsized 2.4-liter turbocharged in-line four-cylinder. The new engine only makes 265 horsepower, which is 30 horsepower less than the V6 However, it makes up for it with 310 pound-feet of torque at just 1,700rpm, which is 47 pound-feet more than the V6. This results in a powertrain that's less stressed and better suited to daily driving conditions. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front wheels, and all-wheel drive is optional.
The towing capacity of the 2024 Highlander remains at 5,000 pounds. Toyota claims an average fuel economy figure of 25 miles per gallon for the front-wheel-drive 2023 Highlander. All-wheel-drive variants are rated at 24 miles per gallon.
